- Williams caught one of two targets for 10 yards in Sunday's 20-3 win over the Steelers.
Despite A.J. Brown (ankle) missing his first game after going down in Week 1 against Seattle, Williams played just 20 percent of the Patriots' offensive snaps against Pittsburgh. He operated as the fourth receiver, well behind Mack Hollins, Romeo Doubs and slot man DeMario Douglas. Williams doesn't hold much fantasy value in redraft formats.
RotoWire via ESPN - Williams is expected to see more playing time Week 2 versus the Steelers, Jeremy Fowler and Dan Graziano of ESPN.com report.
Williams didn't garner a target over 11 offensive snaps in the team's 13-10 loss to the Seahawks in Week 1. Now with A.J. Brown (ankle) on injured reserve, the second-year wide receiver has a clear path to more opportunities against Pittsburgh on Sunday. Williams caught 10 of 21 targets for 209 yards and three touchdowns over 17 regular-season contests with New England last season.
RotoWire via ESPN - Williams wasn't targeted in the Patriots' 13-10 loss to the Seahawks on Wednesday night.
Williams played 12 of 71 offensive snaps and ran just seven routes on 36 dropbacks by Drake Maye. He played another four snaps on special teams, returning a pair of kicks for 58 yards. With A.J. Brown (ankle) now looking at an extended absence, Williams should see a bigger role on offense behind Romeo Doubs over the next few weeks. The big-play threat will be a name to watch on the waiver wire in fantasy but isn't someone worth adding outside of deep leagues at the moment.
RotoWire via ESPN - Williams caught both of his targets for 55 yards and a touchdown in Thursday's 37-13 preseason loss to the Browns.
Williams scored New England's only touchdown on a 45-yard catch in the first quarter. The 2025 third-round pick has had an outstanding preseason, finding the end zone in each of the Patriots' three preseason games. Williams has earned a spot on the 53-man roster heading into the regular season, but he could have a hard time carving out consistent playing time in a WR room led by offseason additions A.J. Brown and Romeo Doubs, with DeMario Douglas and Mack Hollins also jostling for snaps.
RotoWire via ESPN - Williams brought in two of six targets for 74 yards and a touchdown in the Patriots' 24-21 preseason win over the Eagles on Saturday.
Williams started the game while working with Tommy DeVito as his quarterback, but the duo failed to connect on the first two passes that went the fleet-footed wideout's way on the opening possession. They would eventually make up for it in the latter portion of the second quarter, when Williams hauled in a long pass down the right sideline and took it an additional 35 yards for a 69-yard touchdown. Williams' elite speed is unquestioned, but whether he can develop down-to-down consistency and tunnel up a deep wide-receiver depth chart still remains to be seen.
