  1. Burrow completed 39 of 54 passes for 428 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions while rushing three times for six yards and another score in the Bengals' 22-17 loss to the Jaguars on Sunday. He also committed a fumble recovered by Cincinnati.

Burrow's passing yardage total was made all the more noteworthy by the fact he lost Ja'Marr Chase to a concussion in the first half. The prolific 2020 first-round pick put up new season highs in completions, pass attempts and passing yards, while also generating his first multi-interception tally of the campaign. The first of Burrow's picks came right after the two-minute warning in the first half at the Jaguars' 37-yard line and led to a Jacksonville touchdown, but he continued to battle as the Bengals trailed throughout the rest of the contest and drove Cincinnati all the way down to the Jags' nine-yard line before losing the ball on downs with 56 seconds remaining. Prior to that point, Burrow had put his team in position for a potential game-winning touchdown via a 15-yard scoring toss to Mike Gesicki in the third quarter and a one-yard QB sneak with just over three minutes remaining for his first rushing score of the season. Burrow and the Bengals will look to regroup and get Chase back for a Week 5 road matchup against the Dolphins next Sunday.

  2. Week 3 winners and losers: Gibbs and JSN stay hot; St. Brown and Taylor go quiet

Week 3 of the 2026 fantasy football season featured huge games by Seahawks WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Lions RB Jahmyr Gibbs. On the flip side, fantasy stars Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jonathan Taylor and Chase Brown had disappointing games. Who were the big winners and losers around the league during the third week of the fantasy football season? Matt Bowen and Tristan H. Cockcroft offer their analysis. Jump to a topic: Ranking winners | Ranking losers  Biggest injuries and what's next Ranking fantasy winners of Week 3 1. Jahmyr Gibbs, RB, Detroit Lions He's sure proving worthy of that No. 1 overall pick. He has scored at least 23 fantasy points in all three games, posted 75% snap and 78% rushing shares, and he has totaled an easily position-best 98.3 points for the season. That latter number ranks 15th in history through three team games of any season. Isiah Pacheco's back and MCL injuries have locked Gibbs in as a three-down dynamo, and the odds are good that he will maintain his positional lead in fantasy points for the duration of 2026. — Cockcroft 2. Jaxon Smith-Njigba, WR, and Sam Darnold, QB, Seattle Seahawks It's incredible to think that Smith-Njigba is off to the stellar start that he is despite Darnold having missed nearly all of the first two weeks due to injury and the team's running game having been only so-so thus far. Smith-Njigba scored 35.36 fantasy points, giving him 104.06 through three games, the fourth most ever through that many by any player. Meanwhile, Darnold threw a pair of interceptions in his return to the lineup, but he didn't seem at all slowed by the glute injury, finishing with 27.66 points of his own. Smith-Njigba's elite play should bring Darnold's fantasy utility up, and the two have a good matchup against the struggling Los Angeles Chargers in Week 4 before hitting a tougher stretch of the 2026 schedule (SF, @DEN, KC in Weeks 5-7). — Cockcroft 3. Joe Burrow, QB, and Ja'Marr Chase, WR, Cincinnati Bengals In the Week 3 loss to the Steelers, Burrow notched his best numbers of the season, completing 75.7% of his throws for 282 yards and three touchdowns, plus he rushed for 13 yards (22.58 points). Chase caught nine of a team-high 12 targets for 98 yards and a score (24.8 points). That gives Chase two straight games of 24 or more points after that rough opening week. Chase will remain a top-three play at wide receiver for Week 4, while Burrow — who has thrown for at least two touchdowns in back-to-back games — will be a lower-tier QB1 in my ranks. — Bowen 4. Geno Smith, QB, Garrett Wilson, WR, and Kenyon Sadiq, TE, New York Jets In a positive matchup versus the Detroit secondary, Smith scored a season-best 26.04 points, throwing for 321 yards and four touchdowns. Wilson caught 10 of a team-high 13 targets, finishing with 107 yards and a touchdown (26.7 points), plus Sadiq posted his first breakout game, bringing in seven of eight targets for 105 yards and a score (23.5 points). Smith has streaming upside versus the Bears' defense in Week 4 while Wilson should be played as a WR1, and Sadiq (available in over 65% of ESPN leagues) is a must-add this week, though we still see him as a deeper-league starter for now. — Bowen 5. Jaylen Warren, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers Warren took on a volume role in the win over the Bengals with Rico Dowdle out with a toe injury. Warren, who scored a season-high 20.6 points, rushed for 127 yards on 17 carries, adding three receptions for 49 yards. If Dowdle has to sit again in Week 4 versus Cleveland, Warren can be played as a midtier RB2 in a Pittsburgh offense that finally found some juice Sunday. — Bowen 6. Marcus Mariota, QB, and Terry McLaurin, WR, Washington Commanders In what looked like a tough Week 3 matchup versus the Seattle defense, Mariota scored 20.42 points in the upset win, throwing for three 183 yards and three touchdowns. McLaurin caught six of a team-high nine targets, finishing with 77 yards and a touchdown (19.7 points). With this type of volume and cl

  3. Burrow completed 28 of 37 passes for 282 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions while adding two rushes for 13 yards in the Bengals' 30-27 loss to the Steelers on Sunday. He also lost a fumble.

Burrow was impressive throughout the majority of the afternoon, taking just one sack from Pittsburgh's aggressive defense and connecting with Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins and Mike Gesicki for his trio of scoring tosses. Burrow spread the ball around to nine different targets overall on an afternoon he entered already down Andrei Iosivas (thumb, IR) and during which he then lost promising rookie Colbie Young (knee). However, a would-be game-tying or game-winning drive was short-circuited by the franchise signal-caller, as he lost the handle on the ball on a sack with under a minute remaining, snuffing out any chance of Cincinnati being able to at least force overtime. The highly untimely turnover aside, Burrow has looked comfortable with an offensive approach that has him under center more often than previous seasons, and he'll next take aim at the Jaguars in a Week 4 home matchup next Sunday.

  4. Burrow (back) completed 20 of 31 passes for 207 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions while adding one rush for minus-1 yard in the Bengals' 20-6 win over the Texans on Sunday.

Burrow's workmanlike stat line underscores the type of road upset victory it was for the Bengals, who didn't need to be overly aggressive against a Texans offense missing Nico Collins (hamstring). Burrow, who came into the game dealing with back tightness, took his share of lumps in the form of five sacks, but he delivered dynamic 32- and 18-yard touchdown passes to Ja'Marr Chase. Burrow also notably avoided any turnovers despite being consistently under duress, and through his first two games, he's completed a solid 68.2 percent of his passes and posted three touchdowns versus one interception while operating under center more often than in recent seasons. Burrow will look to continue his solid early-season play in a Week 3 divisional road matchup against the Steelers next Sunday.

  5. Burrow (back) is officially listed as active ahead of Sunday's Week 2 matchup against the Texans.

A back injury surfaced for Burrow during the week, leading to back-to-back limited practices before a full session Friday. Coach Zac Taylor and other top sources consistently indicated Burrow would be "good to go," and Sunday's final inactives reports confirmed that sentiment. Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Burrow will have no limitations in this road matchup. He'll look to lead the Bengals to 2-0 against a Houston defense that allowed the fewest total yards and second-fewest total points in the 2025 season (though it did allow Buffalo to put up 36 points in Week 1).
