- Concepcion secured five of eight targets for 64 yards and returned two punts for 10 yards in the Browns' 27-24 win over the Steelers on Thursday.
Concepcion and fellow rookie Denzel Boston continued to spark the Browns' air attack Thursday, and the former finished second in receptions and receiving yards while setting the pace in targets. Concepcion's catch and yardage totals also qualified as new career highs, and the productive night served as a welcome bounce-back effort after the rookie first-round pick had been held to 2-9-0 receiving line in the Week 3 win over the Panthers. He should continue to garner plenty of Deshaun Watson's attention in a Week 5 road matchup against the Jets on Sunday, Oct. 11.
RotoWire via ESPN - Concepcion finished Sunday's 21-18 victory versus Carolina with two catches (on nine targets) for nine yards. He also returned one punt for one yard.
Concepcion actually tied tight end Harold Fannin for the team lead with nine targets, but the rookie wideout managed to haul in just two of those looks. His receptions went for five and four yards, continuing what has become a trend, as he's averaging a meager 6.7 yards per reception so far this season. The target share indicates that the Browns want Concepcion to be an integral part of the passing game, but so far he doesn't seem to be clicking with QB Deshaun Watson.
RotoWire via ESPN - Concepcion caught all six targets for 28 yards in Sunday's 23-19 win over the Bucs. He added one rushing attempt for minus-6 yards.
Concepcion's six targets tied Harold Fannin for second on the team, finishing one behind Denzel Boston, who proved again to be the big-play threat for the Browns, finishing with a 5-95-1 receiving line. Concepcion is running the majority of his routes from the slot, but his average depth of target was a microscopic 1.8 yards Sunday. It's going to be difficult to produce big yards when catching the ball basically at the line of scrimmage. Through two games, Concepcion has 10 catches for 71 scoreless yards on 11 targets. He gets a boost in PPR formats as a WR4/5 headed into next Sunday's date with the Panthers.
RotoWire via ESPN - Concepcion caught four of his five targets for 43 yards in Sunday's 34-10 loss to the Jaguars.
While Concepcion paced the team with his five targets, he ran just 20 routes on Deshaun Watson's 30 dropbacks, good for fourth on the Browns behind Denzel Boston (30), Jerry Jeudy (25) and Harold Fannin (24). It's going to be very difficult for this lackluster Cleveland offense to support any pass catchers as every-week fantasy starters. Concepcion will be a WR4/5 for next Sunday's road date with the Bucs.
RotoWire via ESPN - Browns coach Todd Monken said Friday that Concepcion will handle all of the punt returns Sunday against Jacksonville, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
Concepcion also figures to be one of the team's top offensive weapons, locked in for a top-three role alongside presumed starters Jerry Jeudy and Denzel Boston. The Browns also have TE Harold Fannin and RBs Quinshon Judkins and Dylan Sampson in the mix for short-area targets, but Monken seems intent on getting the ball into Concepcion's hands, one way or another.
