News

  1. Allen caught his only target for seven yards in Monday night's win over the Giants.

The tight end played 52 percent of the offensive snaps, trailing both Colby Parkinson and Terrance Ferguson at the position on a night the Rams again used a heavy dose of tight ends with Puka Nacua (hip) inactive. Allen would need an injury ahead of him to enter the conversation for fantasy.

  2. Allen (head) was able to finish the Week 1 loss to the 49ers after being evaluated for a concussion, Stu Jackson of the Rams' official site reports.

Allen exited early in the contest with a potential concussion, but the fact he returned to the contest indicates he was cleared by an independent neurologist. Allen should be ready to practice throughout Week 2 prep and suit up for next Monday night's game against the Giants.

  3. Allen is getting examined for a possible concussion and is questionable to return to Thursday's matchup with the 49ers.

The tight end recorded one catch on one target for 13 yards before exiting. The Rams use as many as four tight ends, and in Allen's absence, Colby Parkinson, Tyler Higbee and Terrance Ferguson are the players still available at the position.

  4. Allen (quadriceps) is not listed on the Rams' injury report ahead of Thursday's game against the 49ers, Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports.

Allen missed a few weeks of training camp with a quad injury but is all good for the opener. The tight end appeared in all 17 regular-season games last season, finishing with career highs in targets (33), catches (24), yards (208) and touchdowns (three) while playing 52 percent of the Rams' offensive snaps. He's expected to again be a big part of Los Angeles' heavy tight end usage in 2026, but Terrance Ferguson, Colby Parkinson and Tyler Higbee all profile as better pass-catching options.

  5. Allen (quadriceps) was a limited participant in Monday's training camp practice, Stu Jackson of the Rams' official site reports.

Allen has been limited to side work in training camp while recovering from a quadriceps injury, but his ability to practice Monday, even in a limited capacity, is a positive sign for the 2023 fifth-rounder. He's unlikely to play in Thursday's preseason finale against the Chargers, but Allen is working his way toward being available for the Rams' regular-season opener against the 49ers on Thursday, Sept. 10.
