- Fant (abdomen) is listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Falcons, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Fant's practice participation was limited all week due to an abdominal injury that he likely picked up in Week 3 against the Raiders. With the questionable tag, the veteran tight end's status for Monday may not be known until the Saints announce their list of inactive players approximately 90 minutes before the 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff. Oscar Delp and Treyton Welch would see more rotational snaps at tight end behind Juwan Johnson if Fant is not cleared to play against Atlanta.
RotoWire via ESPN - Fant (abdomen) practiced in a limited capacity Friday, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports.
Fant maintained his activity level for a second session in a row, giving him just one more chance to get back to full this week. Saturday's injury report will reveal if he's in danger of missing Monday's game against the Falcons due to his abdominal issue.
RotoWire via ESPN - Fant was limited in practice Thursday due to an abdominal injury.
Fant has taken full advantage of his 12 targets through three games this season, turning them into eight catches for 66 yards and three touchdowns. Now, a health concern is impacting him at the start of Week 4 prep, so his status bears watching as the Saints ramp up for Monday's matchup with the Falcons.
RotoWire via ESPN - Fant caught all four of his targets for 33 yards and two touchdowns during Sunday's 35-27 loss to Las Vegas.
Fant made the most of his opportunities, connecting with quarterback Tyler Shough for a three-yard touchdown in the second quarter and a 16-yard score in the third quarter. The tight end is the No. 2 option behind Juwan Johnson at his position, but Fant has still caught eight of 12 targets for 66 yards and three scores over the first three games this year.
RotoWire via ESPN - Fant caught four of his eight targets for 33 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 31-30 overtime loss to the Lions.
Tyler Shough enjoyed targeting tight ends in Sunday's shootout, with the duo of Fant and Juwan Johnson totalling 87 yards and two touchdowns between them. If Shough's favoritism for the bigger-bodied targets with a higher catch radius continues, Fant could become a solid option in deeper leagues.
