   Fitzgerald connected on both of his field-goal tries and two of his four point-after attempts in Sunday's 32-26 win over the Lions.

   Though his successful field goals of 33 and 47 yards helped provide the Panthers with enough cushion in the win, Fitzgerald's misfires on extra points following touchdowns in the second and third quarters could begin to cost him some job security. His first miss struck the right upright, while his second miss wasn't particularly close after he shanked the kick wide right. Fitzgerald has now missed three of his 13 extra-point tries on the season, after going 27-for-30 on those attempts as a rookie in 2025.

   Fitzgerald went 4-for4 on field-goal tries in Sunday's 21-18 loss to the Browns.

   The kicker hit from 35, 41, 53 and 37 yards out, helping the Panthers stay in the game even as they struggled to find the end zone. Fitzgerald has made all seven of his field-goal attempts on the young season, though he has missed one extra point.

   Fitzgerald's length wasn't tested during Sunday's blowout win, with his made field goals coming from 37 and 25 yards in the first and second quarters, respectively. The Panthers have scored 30-plus points in each of the first two games of the regular season, so Fitzgerald's scoring floor could be higher than what was projected before the start of the 2026 campaign. He's gone 3-for-3 on field-goal attempts and 8-for-9 on extra-point tries through two regular-season games.

   Fitzgerald made four of his five PATs and converted his sole field-goal attempt in Sunday's 59-37 loss to the Bears.

   Fitzgerald's 44-yard field goal was his only challenge of the night, and the kicker was up to it. Where the 26-year-old shrunk was in his consistency, with an 80 percent PAT conversion rate that pales in comparison to opposing kicker Cairo Santos' flawless night, despite the latter being asked to kick eight PATs.

   Fitzgerald converted two of three field-goal attempts while making all four PATs in Friday night's preseason game against the Jaguars.

   Fitzgerald contributed 10 of the Panthers' 34 total points in the effort, making 48- and 61-yard field goals while missing a 31-yarder. The second-year kicker out of Florida State proved he has the leg for long-distance snipes but also flashed some consistency issues by missing a short-range kick. Overall, Fitzgerald had a good night and proved why he will remain the Panthers' starting kicker heading into the regular season.
