- Hodge (knee) was waived with an injury settlement by the 49ers on Thursday, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.
Hodge appeared in all three games for San Francisco thus far this season, bringing in his only target for 18 yards. There's a chance the team will bring him back once he's healthy, so his days with the organization may not be finished.
RotoWire via ESPN - Hodge (knee) did not practice Wednesday, Vic Tafur of The Athletic reports.
Hodge may have tweaked his knee during the 49ers' 36-30 win over the Cardinals in Week 3, when he played 54 offensive snaps without seeing a target from Brock Purdy. Hodge will have two more opportunities to log a full practice and avoid an injury designation ahead of Sunday's game against the Broncos.
RotoWire via ESPN - Hodge went without a target while logging 30 of the 49ers' 54 offensive snaps in Sunday's 36-30 win over the Cardinals.
With Mike Evans (rib) making an early exit from the contest, Hodge was the main beneficiary from a playing-time perspective. He finished second to only Deebo Samuel (40) in snaps among San Francisco receivers, but he ran routes on just 13 of his 30 snaps and failed to draw any looks from quarterback Brock Purdy. Even with injuries at receiver piling up for the 49ers, Hodge appears unlikely to emerge as a major part of the passing game.
RotoWire via ESPN - The 49ers signed Hodge from the practice squad to the active roster Wednesday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
Hodge was on the field for the 27-7 win over the Rams in Week 1. He is now back on the active roster for the Week 2 meeting with Miami, though he will likely spend most of his time on special teams.
RotoWire via ESPN - Hodge reverted to the 49ers' practice squad Friday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Hodge played just one offensive snap in Thursday's 27-7 victory over the Rams in Melbourne, Australia. The wide receiver played 12 more snaps on special teams, where he recorded two tackles on kick coverage. The 31-year-old veteran player will likely see more action throughout the season as a special teams option for the 49ers.
