- Seattle signed Jones from the practice squad to the 53-man roster Saturday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.
The Seahawks needed running-back depth ahead of Sunday's matchup versus the Chargers after rookie Jadarian Price (chest) was placed on IR. Jones should slide into the team's No. 3 RB role behind Emanuel Wilson and George Holani. Jones was previously elevated from the practice squad twice this season and has logged 39 snaps, all on special teams.
RotoWire via ESPN - Jones reverted to the Seahawks' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log.
Jones was elevated to the active roster ahead of Sunday's 33-31 loss to the Commanders, failing to log a snap on offense. The running back was on the field for 22 snaps with the special-teams unit, but he didn't record any stats. Jones can be elevated one more time before he'd have to be officially signed to the active roster.

Jones was elevated for the Seahawks' Week 1 win over the Patriots, playing 17 snaps on special teams and none on offense. With Jadarian Price, Emanuel Wilson and George Holani all healthy and active, Jones will likely fulfill a similar role as a special-teams ace in Sunday's game against the Commanders.
RotoWire via ESPN - Jones played 17 special-teams snaps during the Seahawks' 13-10 win versus the Patriots on Wednesday.
Jones' only notable involvement in Week 1 came in the third quarter when he downed a punt at New England's six-yard line, setting up a three and out. The Seahawks will be able to elevate him twice more before they'd have to sign him to the active roster in order for him to suit up.

It's unknown what kind of role Jones will have for the opener, though it's reasonable to believe his elevation from the practice squad was purely for depth purposes. The 2022 No. 71 overall pick appeared in three regular-season games for the Seahawks during the 2025 campaign, totaling 32 yards off four carries
