News
- Klein (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Cowboys.
The rookie second-rounder will be a healthy scratch for the first time this season, and his next chance to play is Week 5 against the Titans on Sunday, Oct. 11. Cade Stover and Brevin Jordan will serve as the Texans' depth options at tight end behind Dalton Schultz and Foster Moreau.
RotoWire via ESPN - Klein caught three of four targets for 31 yards in Thursday night's 22-20 preseason loss to the Raiders.
Klein's second career preseason game was similar to his first, as the tight end accumulated exactly 31 receiving yards again. The second-round rookie was targeted three more times than against the Chargers, catching two more passes. Klein logged 31 total snaps, playing 33 percent of the Texans' offensive snaps as well as 35 percent of the special-teams volume as a blocker.
RotoWire via ESPN - Klein caught his only target for 31 yards in Thursday's 27-7 preseason loss to the Chargers.
Klein's lone catch gained enough yards to lead the Texans in receiving yards as Houston's offense struggled to produce while the team's starters rested in the preseason opener. Houston drafted Klein 59th overall out of Michigan, and the rookie second-round pick is likely to begin his career in a backup role behind Dalton Schultz. The 6-foot-6, 250-pound Klein was known more for his blocking than his receiving ability in college.
