- Bateman caught two of three targets for 37 yards in Sunday's 34-31 win over the Cowboys.
Bateman finished second on the team in receiving yards behind Zay Flowers, who compiled 84 receiving yards in the latter's return from a one-game absence due to a hamstring injury. Bateman stepped up with seven catches for 88 yards and a touchdown while Flowers was sidelined in Week 2, but Flowers is the clear No. 1 option in Baltimore's wide receiver room, as Bateman was held without a catch when Flowers was active for the season opener. Up next for Bateman and the Ravens will be a Week 4 home game against the Titans.
RotoWire via ESPN - Fantasy football free agent pickups: Dalton Schultz, Jonah Coleman highlight top options for Week 3
Each Monday, before the current NFL week ends, we will identify players worthy of your attention available in at least 50% of ESPN standard leagues. Things change quickly for player valuation and roles each week in the NFL, and free agency is a critical way to acquire players. We are here to help! Top pickup options at every position Looking for the top recommendation at each skill position? Look no further! Here are the players to target heading into Week 3, along with their current roster percentages and a recommendation of how much of your free agent budget (FAB) you should consider using for your bid. Tyler Shough, QB, Saints (rostered in 49.7% of leagues, 10-15% of your FAB) Last week's most recommended QB remains available in barely more than half of ESPN's standard leagues, though likely not for long after yet another solid performance (22.38 points) in a road win against the mighty Baltimore Ravens. This week, the New Orleans Saints host the unbeaten Las Vegas Raiders. Ignore the records. It's a positive matchup. Shough looks like more than a streamer, too, especially since the NFC South doesn't exactly feature top defensive teams and the Saints haven't played any division games yet. Jonah Coleman, RB, Broncos (15.2% rostered, 10-12% FAB) Starter J.K. Dobbins (hamstring) wasn't doing so much when he left the game in the second half, having scored just 3.6 points, and rookie Coleman helped spark the offense with his 14.8 points, including a touchdown run. Coleman, a fourth-round pick from Washington, barely played in Week 1, but now he might be his team's starter for this week against the Los Angeles Rams — pending the status of Dobbins and RJ Harvey (also a hamstring issue) — and perhaps beyond. Denzel Boston, WR, Browns (26.4%, 8-10% FAB): The rookie Boston scored a touchdown in a blowout Week 1 loss. It was nice, but not really a reason to trust him in Week 2. Then he scored another TD on Sunday. Now, he is quite intriguing, even considering Cleveland's QB situation. Boston is averaging 22 yards per reception through two games. If you wish to invest in a Browns receiver, Boston is the top option over fellow rookie KC Concepcion (57.6%) and the quite invisible Jerry Jeudy (22.1%). Dalton Schultz, TE, Texans (21.3%, 2% FAB): Schultz was the main (and perhaps only) beneficiary of the Nico Collins (hamstring) injury, catching 12 passes for 140 yards and achieving 26 fantasy points. No other member of the Houston Texans reached six catches or 40 receiving yards. We really shouldn't be so surprised, though. Schultz ended last season with 82 receptions — tied for third among tight ends — and 10th at the position in fantasy points. He might lack the upside of other top tight ends, but his is a relatively high floor, whether Collins plays or not. Other quarterbacks Jordan Love, Packers (44.7%, 10% FAB): Love is a bit more rostered now than he was last week, and those who relied on him enjoyed a modest 13.8 fantasy points Sunday. Love completed only 16 passes for 145 yards, though two of those throws went for touchdowns. Why recommend Love? The Packers host the seemingly dreadful Atlanta Falcons this week. If you need a QB in Week 3, Love remains a solid streamer. Bryce Young, Panthers (34.3%, 5% FAB): Young has started the season with consecutive three-TD performances, though it remains a bit difficult to tell if this is a true breakout or just the fruit of a friendly early-season schedule. After all, he has faced the Chicago Bears and the Falcons. Perhaps Young really is a QB1 option this season. It seems unlikely, but one can do worse than look his way for Week 3 against the Cleveland Browns. Kyler Murray, Vikings (49.9%, 3% FAB): Veteran Carson Wentz had his chance against what everyone said was a terrible Bears defense — and he could not produce even a single touchdown. His Minnesota Vikings won the game, but Wentz did little to prove he should start in Week 3 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers over Murray, who shoul
ESPN - Week 2 winners and losers: Jaxon Smith-Njigba, CeeDee Lamb shine; Bijan Robinson struggles
Week 2 of the 2026 fantasy football season wasn't the high-scoring bonanza of Week 1, but Jaxon Smith-Njigba, CeeDee Lamb and DeVonta Smith all came up big. On the flip side, fantasy stars Bijan Robinson, Justin Jefferson and Drake London all had disappointing games. Who were the big winners and losers around the league during the second week of the fantasy football season? Matt Bowen and Tristan H. Cockcroft offer their analysis. Jump to a topic: Ranking winners | Ranking losers Biggest injuries and what's next Ranking fantasy winners of Week 2 1. Jaxon Smith-Njigba, WR, Seattle Seahawks After a stellar, breakthrough 2025 that saw him score the second-most fantasy points among wide receivers, it might be shocking to learn that this week's 42.5 points set Smith-Njigba's new personal best. He flashed good chemistry with fill-in quarterback Drew Lock and was productive at all levels of the field. This was vintage JSN, and we should see something similar in a great Week 3 matchup against the Washington Commanders. — Cockcroft 2. Dak Prescott, QB, CeeDee Lamb, WR, and Jake Ferguson, TE, Dallas Cowboys In a positive matchup versus the Commanders, the Cowboys had multiple Week 2 winners. Prescott had 29.76 points, attacking every level of the field in the pass game, finishing with 279 yards and four touchdowns, while adding 26 yards on the ground. Lamb's 35.3 points were the second most among wide receivers through the late window. Lamb caught 8 of 9 targets for 153 yards and added two scores. And don't forget about Ferguson in scoring position. The tight end caught all four of his targets for 43 yards, with two touchdown grabs on red zone throws (20.3 points). Because of his red zone usage, Ferguson will stay in the lower-tier TE1 mix for the Week 3 matchup versus Baltimore. — Bowen 3. DeVonta Smith, WR, Philadelphia Eagles If he's destined for a breakout, fantasy WR1-caliber year, this might well be the starting-point game his managers refer to. Smith scored 27.7 fantasy points, his sixth most in 82 career games, and he had a 38% target share. He's in prime position to shine, with A.J. Brown now in New England, and he'll get a fantastic Week 3 matchup in which to potentially repeat the effort versus the Chicago Bears. — Cockcroft 4. Tyler Shough, QB, and Chris Olave, WR, New Orleans Saints The Shough-Olave combination produced high-end numbers again in the Week 2 win over the Ravens. Shough (22.38 points) threw for 252 yards and a touchdown, while he rushed for 23 yards and another score on nine carries. That's two straight games for Shough with at least 22 points. Olave caught 8 of a team-high 10 targets for 86 yards and a touchdown, which was good for 22.6 points — after dropping 28.2 points on the Lions in Week 1. Olave will remain a midtier WR1 for me in the ranks for the Week 3 matchup versus the Raiders, while Shough should be viewed as a fringe QB1. — Bowen 5. Ja'Marr Chase, WR, Cincinnati Bengals Chase, who had a slow Week 1 start (3.2 points), bounced back in Sunday's win over the Texans, dropping 26.5 points on one of the league's best defenses. Chase caught 7 of 9 targets for 75 yards and added two touchdowns, one on a ridiculous snag that highlighted his hands, body control and focus. This is another reminder to trust your top picks after a tough ballgame. Talent wins. — Bowen 6. Dalton Schultz, TE, Houston Texans With Texans No. 1 wide receiver Nico Collins out with a hamstring injury, Schultz was the priority target for quarterback C.J. Stroud in Sunday's loss to the Bengals. Schultz totaled career highs in receptions (12), targets (14) and receiving yards (140). Schultz, who finished with 26.0 points (second most in his career), will be in the TE1 mix for the Week 3 game at Indianapolis if Collins is down again. Can't ignore that receiving usage. — Bowen 7. Bryce Young, QB, and Darren Waller, TE, Carolina Panthers This is the first time in Young's four-year NFL career that he has scored at least 20 fantasy p
ESPN - Bateman caught seven of nine targets for 88 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 24-17 loss to New Orleans.
With Zay Flowers (hamstring) unavailable, Bateman stepped up as Lamar Jackson's top downfield option and hauled in a 22-yard TD just before halftime, giving the Ravens a 14-3 lead. The veteran wideout made a mental error that may have cost his team the game, however — on Baltimore's final possession as the Ravens were looking to tie it up, he cut a route short and saw Jackson's pass attempt sail over his head for a game-ending interception. Flowers could be back as soon as next week, which would relegate Bateman to a supporting role again for a Week 3 road trip to Dallas.
RotoWire via ESPN - With teammate Zay Flowers (hamstring) listed as doubtful, Bateman has a big opportunity Sunday against the Saints, ESPN.com's Jamison Hensley reports.
Quarterback Lamar Jackson told reporters that Bateman "is actually going to get a lot more targets, I believe." The Ravens may not have any other choice after losing Flowers and Ja'Kobi Lane (IR – wrist) to injuries during a Week 1 win over Indianapolis. Bateman played 80 percent of Baltimore's snaps in the contest, including 85 percent before halftime when Flowers and Lane were still in the game. Bateman likely will handle another lofty snap share this Sunday, and his target rate may rise with Flowers' usual snaps/routes being split between lesser players like Devontez Walker, LaJohntay Wester and Chris Moore.
