  1. The Chargers placed Lambert-Smith (hamstring) on injured reserve Tuesday.

Lambert-Smith suffered a significant hamstring injury during the Chargers' Week 1 loss against the Cardinals, warranting a stint on the IR. As such, the second-year pro will be required to miss at least the next four games and is eligible to return for Week 6 against the Chiefs on Sunday, Oct. 18, though he may need more time to recover. Gary Jennings was signed to the Chargers' 53-man roster in a corresponding move.

  2. Lambert-Smith (hamstring) will miss some time after exiting Sunday's game against the Cardinals early, Alex Insdorf of BoltBeat.com reports.

Lambert-Smith exited the second half of Sunday's contest with a significant hamstring injury. The wide receiver will likely miss multiple weeks due to the issue. The Chargers will likely need to make some practice-squad elevations at wide receiver with Lambert-Smith out and Derius Davis (undisclosed) also dealing with an injury. No. 1 wide receiver Ladd McConkey (ribs) is also uncertain for Sunday's Week 2 game against the Raiders, leaving the team even thinner at the position.

  3. Lambert-Smith (hamstring) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

Lambert-Smith exited the second half of Sunday's game. If the hamstring issue is anything other than a minor hit the wide receiver will likely be required to miss time as he manages the issue. Derius Davis may see an increased role in the Chargers' passing offense in Lambert-Smith's absence.

  4. Lambert-Smith caught his only target for 21 yards in Thursday's preseason loss to the Rams.

Lambert-Smith worked behind the starters and ended up logging 16 offensive snaps. Over the course of the exhibition slate, Lambert-Smith led the Chargers in receptions (seven), targets (11) and receiving yards (93). That could help him in his battle for positioning in the Chargers' WR pecking order, though Ladd McConkey, Quentin Johnston and Tre' Harris (undisclosed) are all comfortably ahead of him on the depth chart.

  5. Lambert-Smith caught two of four targets for 14 yards in Thursday night's 41-17 preseason loss to the 49ers.

Lambert-Smith also returned two punts for 15 total yards. The wide receiver played 34 percent of the Chargers' offensive snaps, garnering a decent amount of attention for the time he was on the field. The second-year player out of Auburn is fighting for position in the team's wide receiver corps, with Ladd McConkey, Quentin Johnston (lower body), Tre' Harris (undisclosed) and Brenen Thompson all currently set to see more snaps.
