- Mitchell tallied 10 carries for 39 yards and five catches (on six targets) for 24 yards during Sunday's 30-23 defeat at Seattle.
Mitchell surprisingly led the Chargers backfield in touches with 15, ahead of Omarion Hampton's 11 and Kimani Vidal's seven, but unlike his position mates he didn't reach the end zone. Because Mitchell's touch count has increased in each successive week this season, he's trending in a positive direction, but until one of the trio is handling most of the RB reps, it'll be difficult to trust any of them for fantasy purposes on a weekly basis. He next takes the field next Sunday against the Broncos.
RotoWire via ESPN - Fantasy football Week 4 inactives: Coker ruled out for Sunday Night Football
Whom should you start? Whom should you sit? To help you set your fantasy football lineups and avoid starting an offensive player who won't be in the lineup, we'll post fantasy-relevant updates and analysis here as NFL teams release their official inactives lists. Official Sunday inactives should begin coming in approximately 90 minutes before the scheduled kickoff times: around 11:30 a.m. ET for the early games and 2:30 p.m. ET for the late-afternoon games. Refresh often for the latest information. Don't forget to check these out: Mike Clay's Playbook | Week 4 Buzz Week 4 Rankings | Matchup rankings for Week 4 Biggest concerns heading into Week 4 Players in London Chig Okonkwo, TE, Commanders (hamstring): He has been limited in practice this week but is active. Okonkwo has missed the past two games and, though it is encouraging to have him back, I would not risk getting him into your lineups right away. After all, he will likely be third in the target pecking order in a game started by a backup QB. There is some upside long term, though, with Daniels potentially nearing a return. Okonkwo is a stash for TE-needy teams. Terry McLaurin, WR, Commanders (hamstring): Washington's top receiver was added to the injury report Friday and is indeed inactive for Sunday's game. Stefon Diggs was already a strong start as both the top slot option for the Commanders and man-coverage target. The Colts have allowed the most yards to slot receivers and play man at the third-highest rate in the NFL. With McLaurin sitting, Diggs gets an added boost in volume. Players with early starts ACTIVE Lamar Jackson, QB, Ravens (back): Jackson scared away fantasy managers when he was limited in Wednesday's practice because of a back injury. He later returned to full practice and is active in Week 4. Never bench him in fantasy. Zay Flowers, WR, Ravens (hamstring): Flowers was questionable headed into the weekend but is indeed active for today's game. He has earned must-start status as the clear focal point of the Ravens' passing attack. DJ Moore, WR, Bills (shoulder): Buffalo's top receiver had been limited in practice and even wore a red noncontact jersey. That's the same thing that happened last week, and Moore ended up playing and getting 10 targets. He is active for Week 4. Also working in Moore's favor is that Patriots star CB Christian Gonzalez is out this week. Moore is Buffalo's top target when going against man defense, and New England uses that coverage at the second-highest NFL rate. He should be started in all leagues this week. D'Andre Swift, RB, Bears (knee): Swift was added to the team's official injury report Thursday, but did not carry an injury designation heading into Sunday. He is active and fantasy managers can start him without worry. Tyson Bagent, QB, Bears (concussion): Bagent is back at practice and reportedly took first-team reps this week. He is active and currently expected to start. Those who were planning on streaming Case Keenum in superflex leagues should pivot to Bagent. Luther Burden III is the only Bears pass catcher to start with confidence this week. Nico Collins, WR, Texans (hamstring): Collins logged limited practices to start the week before getting in a full session Friday. He is active for Week 4 against the Cowboys — a strong matchup for the receiver. Fantasy managers should get him in their starting lineup with confidence. Puka Nacua, WR, Rams (hip): The star receiver has been limited at practice this week, but coach Sean McVay said he is "good to go" for Week 4. He is indeed active. Even if he ends up being on a snap count, this one is as simple as it can get in fantasy football: Nacua is playing for the Rams, so he needs to start in fantasy. Drake Maye, QB, Patriots (shoulder): Yes, Maye was a full participant all week and is active for Week 4. However, he appeared on the team's official injury report for the first time all season. It's a situation worth monitoring, but until we see otherwise, it's fine to ben
ESPN - Fantasy football last-minute pickups for Week 4: Raymond, Waller among top options
At various points during the fantasy football season, injuries, bye weeks and breaking news can cause you to need reinforcements for your fantasy lineup. Every Friday throughout the 2026 NFL season, Matt Bowen will offer some late-week pickup options at each of the primary fantasy positions to help fill those holes, with an emphasis on deeper leagues. Because of that, this column will focus mostly on players rostered in fewer than 50% of ESPN leagues, with occasional exceptions. Looking at the Week 4 NFL slate — and the available players — I'll start with the wide receiver position. I have two veteran pass catchers who are seeing consistent volume and producing solid fantasy numbers. There are options at quarterback, too, and one signal-caller could be getting his top target back. We'll also hit on the running backs in line to see an increased role due to injury, plus I have a tight end and a defense to get into lineups. Wide receivers Kalif Raymond, Chicago Bears (48.4% rostered; vs. Jets) The Bears haven't announced whether Case Keenum or Tyson Bagent will start at QB for the Week 4 home game versus the Jets, but either way I'm still pushing for Raymond based on his route deployment in Ben Johnson's offense. Raymond scored 21 points in the Week 3 win over the Eagles, and he has at least five receptions in all three games played this season. Raymond will see the ball as an outlet on crossers, sit routes and unders, plus he has the speed to create big plays (deep over routes and verticals). Raymond fits as a WR3 this week. Dontayvion Wicks (44.7% rostered) and Makai Lemon, Philadelphia Eagles (47.6% rostered; vs. Rams) DeVonta Smith (hamstring) has been downgraded to doubtful for Sunday's home game versus the Rams, so managers can pivot to Wicks or Lemon, as both should see a bump in target volume. Wicks scored 12 or more points in each of his first two games, with at least four targets in all three this season, while Lemon caught three of four targets for 29 yards in the Week 3 loss to the Bears. I'm really interested in seeing how Lemon performs with an expanded role. The rookie out of USC has the traits to win at the top of the route and he accelerates through the ball. Mack Hollins, New England Patriots (11.2% rostered; at Bills) The Bills have been zone-heavy under new defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard, and they play from a two-deep safety look on 49.2% of opponent dropbacks. That works for Hollins, as he has the coverage awareness to find open voids on short-to-intermediate throws. Hollins caught six of nine targets for 87 yards in the Week 3 loss to the Jaguars (14.7 points), and he has seen at least five targets in two of three games played. He's a deeper-league option this week. Malik Washington, Miami Dolphins (23.3% rostered; at Vikings) You can take a shot on Washington because of his versatility and expanding role. Washington caught five of a season-high 10 targets for 56 yards in the Week 3 loss to the Chiefs, plus he had two carries for five yards from backfield alignments. Washington has seen five or more targets in all three games this season, with at least one rushing attempt in the past two. The Vikings' pressure defense will create conflict for quarterback Malik Willis and Miami's protection schemes, but that unit is giving up the 10th-most points per game to opposing wide receivers. Quarterbacks Marcus Mariota, Washington Commanders (18.4% rostered; at Colts) I didn't see Mariota scoring 20.42 points on the Seahawks defense in Week 3. The veteran quarterback delivered the ball with timing and location, finishing with 183 yards and three touchdown passes. While I would like to see Mariota deployed more on designed carries, there is a clear connection here with Terry McLaurin (six receptions, 77 yards, one touchdown in Week 3), and we can't pass on this matchup versus Indianapolis. The Colts are allowing 276 yards passing per game (third most). Mariota is a solid QB2 in Week 4, while Jayden Daniels (elbow
ESPN - Mitchell (ankle) was a full participant in Friday's practice and does not have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Seahawks, Kris Rhim of ESPN.com reports.
After being limited Wednesday and Thursday and wearing a walking boot earlier in the week, Mitchell's good to go against Seattle. At less than 100 percent and facing a stout defense, Mitchell is tough to get behind for fantasy lineups, even after he closed the snaps and touches gap on Omarion Hampton in last Sunday's loss to the Bills. Neither is an overly exciting Week 4 fantasy bet.
RotoWire via ESPN - Mitchell (ankle) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice.
For the second day in a row, Mitchell had his reps capped while he manages a left ankle injury. So long as he doesn't take a step back in activity during the Chargers' final practice of the week Friday, Mitchell should still be on track to suit up Sunday against the Seahawks. Through the team's first three games, Mitchell has carried 17 times for 85 yards (5.0 YPC) while adding four receptions for 10 yards and a touchdown in a complementary role behind lead back Omarion Hampton.
