News

  1. Skowronek hauled in his lone target for a 23-yard touchdown during Sunday's 30-27 win over the Bengals.

Skowronek ranked fifth among Steelers receivers by playing 11 of the team's 62 offensive snaps, but the 29-year-old was able to connect with quarterback Aaron Rodgers on a pass to the end zone during his limited time on the field. Despite coming up with a big play in the Week 3 win, Skowronek remains likely to see most of his field time on special teams moving forward.

  2. Skowronek (concussion) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports.

Skowronek was placed in concussion protocol at the end of August after the wide receiver suffered a head injury in the Steelers' 28-27 preseason loss to the Bills. The 29-year-old progressed through the entirety of the league's five-step protocol and was cleared by an independent neurologist before Wednesday's first official practice.

  3. Skowronek suffered a concussion in Thursday's 28-27 preseason loss to the Bills, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.

Skowronek has entered the NFL's five-step concussion protocol. The wide receiver will need to be cleared by an independent neurologist to ultimately be cleared for game action. If the 29-year-old cannot recover from the injury by the Steelers' Week 1 showdown with the Falcons, Kaden Wetjen projects to fill the No. 5 wide receiver role.
