News
- Tolbert (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the 49ers.
Tolbert will continue to be a healthy scratch for the Dolphins as the team rides with its young talent at wide receiver. Caleb Douglas, Chris Bell and Kevin Coleman will continue to suit up behind the primary option, Malik Washington.
RotoWire via ESPN - Tolbert (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Raiders.
With many unproven wide recievers on the roster, Tolbert will take a backseat to the trio of rookies consisting of Caleb Douglas, Chris Bell and Kevin Coleman. The fifth-year veteran will likely only get a shot at suiting up if the youth do not show enough promise over the next couple of games.
RotoWire via ESPN - Tolbert caught all three of his targets for 27 yards in Friday's 17-12 preseason loss to the Falcons.
Tolbert led the team in catches Friday as backup QBs Cam Miller and Mark Gronowski completed a combined 11 passes. The 27-year-old Tolbert is expected to be the top veteran contributor in Miami's young WR room, especially after the Dolphins traded Tutu Atwell to the Rams on Thursday. Third-year pro Malik Washington and rookies Caleb Douglas, Chris Bell and Kevin Coleman represent Tolbert's top competition for regular-season snaps.
RotoWire via ESPN - Tolbert secured one of three targets for 27 yards in the Dolphins' 20-7 preseason loss to the Commanders on Friday.
Tolbert, who currently slots in as the No. 2 receiver on the Dolphins' unofficial depth chart, made his one reception on Miami's second drive of the night after Quinn Ewers had replaced Malik Willis under center. Tolbert showed some promise two seasons ago with the Cowboys when he posted a career-best 49-610-7 line on 79 targets over 17 regular-season games, but a downturn in 2025 led to his availability this offseason. Tolbert should have a good chance of garnering a meaningful role in his new Miami digs this season if he can continue impressing this summer, given the Dolphins' dearth of proven options at the position.
