- Head coach Kellen Moore said Thursday that he doesn't expect Tyson (hamstring) to practice next week, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
At the time his most recent hamstring injury flared up in mid-August, Tyson was given a prognosis of roughly two months, which he's still in the midst of. As a player on injured reserve, his practice window can be opened next week, but that doesn't appear to be a consideration for the Saints at this time. It remains to be seen when the eighth overall pick in the 2026 Draft will be able to make his pro debut.
RotoWire via ESPN - Tyson (hamstring) was placed on injured reserve with a designation to return by New Orleans on Sunday.
Tyson has had recurring issues with his right hamstring, and the most recent flare-up is expected to result in two months on the sideline, so Sunday's transaction comes as no surprise. He'll be required to miss at least the first four games of the season, but considering the aforementioned recovery timeline, he likely will be out beyond Week 5. During Tyson's absence, Devaughn Vele and rookies Bryce Lance and Barion Brown will have opportunities for targets behind top WR Chris Olave.
RotoWire via ESPN - Tyson is expected to miss about two months due to the hamstring injury he suffered last week, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Per the report, Tyson sought multiple medical opinions on an injury that coach Kellen Moore indicated is separate from the one he dealt with in the spring, but the 2026 first-rounder now appears to be on track to miss time out of the gate this season. Considering the proposed length of Tyson's recovery, it could be more open-ended than the Saints are letting on, but the team will continue to evaluate the wideout's injury. Meanwhile, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football indicates that starting the campaign on IR — which would force him to miss at least four games — is a possibility for Tyson. In Tyson's looming absence, Devaughn Vele, Bryce Lance (undisclosed) and Barion Brown are candidates to see added reps alongside Chris Olave, the team's top healthy WR.
RotoWire via ESPN - Coach Kellen Moore said Saturday that the team is "still in collection mode" regarding Tyson (hamstring), Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports.
Tyson suffered a right hamstring injury during practice Thursday, and Moore suggested Friday that the issue could impact the rookie wideout's availability for the beginning of the regular season. Tyson also dealt with hamstring issues during his final campaign with Arizona State, though Moore has said that his current injury isn't related. Nonetheless, fantasy managers who have yet to draft are justified in being wary of investing too heavily in Tyson given his current hazy outlook. However, if he's able to get healthy, Tyson is expected to have a major role in the Saints' passing game and possesses plenty of upside.
RotoWire via ESPN - Coach Kellen Moore acknowledged that Tyson's right hamstring injury "could" linger into the start of the regular season, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
"We've just got to let these experts evaluate this and then we'll put together a plan," Moore said. "Not going to jump to conclusions. I don't have a doctor in front of my name, so I'm not going to jump to put together a timeline on it." Tyson — who is reportedly seeking multiple opinions, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network — was injured in practice Thursday and has dealt with hamstring issues in the past. If he's unable to play Week 1 against the Lions on Sunday, Sept. 13, the Saints would need to lean more on Devaughn Vele and rookie Bryce Lance behind Chris Olave.
