- The Dolphins signed Washington from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports.
The move bolsters the Dolphins' backfield depth in the absence of De'Von Achane, who is out for the rest of the 2026 season due to a torn ACL in his left knee. Washington stuck around in Miami on the practice squad after failing to make the 53-man roster out of training camp. Now that he's on the active roster, Washington will operate as the Dolphins' RB3 behind Ollie Gordon and Jaylen Wright moving forward.

The Dolphins waived Washington during Sunday's cut-down day. The running back cleared waivers and has rejoined the team on the practice squad. The 27-year-old participated in all three preseason contests, rushing 18 times for 41 yards.

The running back signed with Miami in May with a chance to compete for the No. 4 running back spot behind De'Von Achane, Jaylen Wright and Ollie Gordon, but he averaged just 2.3 yards per carry across 16 preseason touches. Washington saw action in one regular-season game in each of the last two seasons with Atlanta, though he has yet to receive a regular-season carry.
